In May 1944 war weary P-47s from the 56th FG were transferred to the newly formed 5th Emergency Rescue Service.
Nigel Julians build feature includes background information on the 5th ERS along with a selection of photos of the model.

Well I didn't want to say, but I couldn't resist taking a photo of "Tony" with the two medals and slipping it into the feature.
The photos out of date though, as "Tony" won its class at the Hinckley show today and theres another medal and certificate sitting in the cabinet now

The topside is a Tamya XF62 Olive Drab base coat faded with about 4 coats of varying mixtures of OD and XF4 yellow green. Its got some streaks of Tamiya smoke over that as well.

My favourite shelf in the display cabinets.........

I like the way you toned down the olive drab, I am going to try that on my current build.Strong work on that jug
