Dear all, I am wondering which specific brand and/or type of CA glue do you guys normally use for PE parts, I know for tiny PE parts Gloss Varnish works OK, but how about the bigger pieces? Is AMMO slow-drying CA glue good for this purpose? (enable for maneuver before drying) Thank you!

Usually CA comes in levels of 'viscosity' which is basically how thick it is. There are usually three main varieties- Thick, Medium and Thin Viscosity. Thick means it will dry slower, Medium dries a little faster and Thin dries the quickest of all. Frankly I've never used the Thick varieties as if I need time to position stuff I will go for Medium as it works nicely for this purpose. Thin is best if you want to position something and then glue it down. I haven't seen the AMMO variety but it sounds like it would be suitable for your needs.

I use the gel type. It does allow a quick period of movement, if needed, while allowing any excess squeezed out to be easily cleaned up..

I use 2 different adhesives for PE.

~ Thin CA (with or without the kicker)

~ 5 minute two part epoxy

The thin CA I use IF I must position the part, then apply. Usually in stages and sparingly to allow it to 'seep into' the joint.

The epoxy for larger pieces that I can set the adhesive down first, then the part.

IF I am 'assembling' PE parts together then I do like to solder the pieces as it offers a stronger joint.

Always lightly sand the two surfaces being glued.

'Loctite Gel Control' and sometimes their 'Ultra Liquid Control' (thin). Also, I sometimes use 'Zip Kicker Accelerator' (the bottle, not the spray) No experience with any other brands of CA. HTH.
