Someone gave me this big bottle of "rubber cement" does it have any use in modeling/dioramas?

The only use I have for rubber cement is for masking. Basically I cut out a mask from paper, spread some rubber cement on the back and attach it to the model. It sticks pretty well and when completely dry the rubber cement peels off pretty cleanly. Haven't used this as much since discovering the wonder of Blue-Tak.

You can use it for 'dent/scratch/paint chip' masking medium.
You can use it to help with rubber band tracks.
You may be able to use if for canopy masking.
Even temporary part connections.

Yup Propboy

I have to agree with the guys above. I use the rubbercement for my chipped paint. I apply my rubbercement on the places where I want after the first layer of paint is cured. Then I spray all the layers above it. The pro is that the spots where you have put the rubbercement remain visible under all the layers of paint. When all the layers above it are cured you simply rub over the surface where you put the rubbercement and you can peal it off easily.

here is a picture of a tank where I used it for chipped paint
The big chips are done with the stuff

Man Faust, that looks sharp. I guess I'm going after some rubber cement.
