A simple but highly effective built, which deserved him a 1st place in his regional IPMS contest!

What really sets this build apart is the fantastic presentation depicting the launching, with the bunting and figures.

Thanks Tom. With a modern sub, I wanted to do something to add some color to it. While today's military machines are awesome and powerful, I feel they lack the romance of the World War 2 era machines.

Not to jump the gun on Gator but I think that is the bunting for launching. I want to know how you did that Kenny? Is it one of your masks, or a decal that comes with the kit, or what?

Outstanding work. Very seldom do we see a model completed as at launch. And needless to say, this is the most colorful these boats will ever be. After this day, they tend to resort to black on black. Very nice, keep them coming. .........................Bruce

You're correct Rodger. That is the bunting for the launch. The blue and white were painted with a mask. The center artwork is a decal I made. That part of the bunting hangs at the Louisiana War Museum in Baton Rouge. This banner is 2 stories tall! The Baton Rouge club has there model show there every year, so I had a really good reference photo.
Also on site is some beautiful large scale display models and the 1:1 scale USS Kidd.Kenny

Now that you've won a prize for it I'd suggest considering marketing this idea. I for one would be very interested in recreating this just to add some color to the display case. Another thought would be to do a feature article on how you did it for us to read. Great work.

Ron, those are resin figures from l'arsenal. They cost more than the PE, but they're worth it.
