Nigel Julian built Tamiya's motorised P-47 as "Miss Fire / Rozzie Geth II" as flown by Fred Christensen, 62nd FS 56th FG. Boxted July 1944.
Nigel used Zotz decals for the artwork and Miracle Masks for insignia and code letters. The kit is otherwise straight from the box except for the addition of Eduard seatbelts.

Czech manufacturers Sword Models are showing a 1:72nd P-47N in their new releases. Artwork on the Sword website features "Chautauqua", 463rdFS 507thFG.
Probably the most widely available footage featuring P-47's is William Wylers "Thunderbolt" which tells the story of the 57thFG operating from Corsica. Rising Decals have produced two sheets of these colourfull aircraft.
One in 1:72nd and one in 1:48th

Mike West of Lone Star Models has announced the release of an early "Flat Keel" and 200gal Ferry Tank.
They are designed for the 1:48th Tamiya Razorback and will go very nicely with the Loon Models "C" or "Early D" cowlings.
Although only used for a brief period during July/August 1943 and not very successfull, the 200 gallon "bathtub" tank nevertheless represented a great leap forward in extending the range of the P-47.
By September of that year it had been replaced by the 75 Gallon belly tank which had the advantage of being pressurised and enabling fuel to be drawn from it at high altitude.

Coded 2Z-B it was the personal aircraft of Howard Price, 510th FS of the 405th FG.
The kit is the Tamiya Razorback and Andrew used Eagle Strike decal set 48054 "American Jabos Pt4".

Scale Model World 2008, the biggest model show in the UK took place over the weekend of 15/16th November. Thunderbolts were well represented and many of them can be seen in this photo feature.

Dave Gianakos of Denver Colorado has submitted a feature article describing four of his excellent 1:6th scale radio controlled Thunderbolts.
Each of them is a replica of a 56th FG P-47, and he's even flown one of them from its wartime base at Boxted!
